Version 1.0.0

Visit www.stoevlab.com for the latest version.

INTRODUCTION
------------

sample tools is a multi-platform plugin that provides software control for volca sample.

Features:
- chromatic playback of samples
- single MIDI channel triggering of all parts
- software control of parameters
- parameter automation
- multi-platform - Windows, MacOS and Linux

INSTALLATION
------------

Windows
Copy the 'sample tools' folder to your VST plugins folder.

MacOS
Copy the 'sample tools.vst' package to your VST plugins folder.

Linux
Copy the 'sample tools' folder to your VST plugins folder.

SETUP
-----

sample tools is a virtual instrument that sends and receives MIDI messages. It uses notes C1-A1 to trigger individual parts, and notes C2-C6 to play the last triggered part chromatically.

Set sample tools up as you would set up any other VSTi in your host, and make sure to route its MIDI output to the hardware MIDI out where your volca sample is connected.

Although the exact method differs from host to host, generally you need to do the following:
1. Load sample tools on a new track.
2. Set your controller as MIDI input.
3. Set your interface as MIDI output.*
4. Set the MIDI output channel to 'any'.**

* Some hosts don't allow you to set the MIDI output of tracks when you load a VSTi. In such case you need to create one additional empty track and set its MIDI input to the track with sample tools, and set its MIDI output to your hardware device.

** Some hosts force you to set a specific MIDI channel for the output. This will prevent sample tools from working as intended. As a result you will be able to play only one part chromatically (depending on the MIDI channel that you select), and won't be able to trigger all parts from a single MIDI channel. A workaround is to load ten instances of sample tools on ten separate MIDI tracks and set their MIDI outputs to channels 1-10 respectively.
